ABOUT

THE LOG SPLITTER came about through finding that logs delivered to my home were usually too chunky to burn well in my log burner and had to be re-split into a more manageable size. I provided this service for friends and family too and soon realised there could be a market out there for a re-spliting service. A few weeks of advertising on Social Media and I was getting quite busy. Not just re-splitting logs but also splitting tree rounds, large branches and tree trunks left for the customer by tree surgeons when their work had been completed.

Fast forward and I now find myself providing this service on a full time basis to customers all over the North East and North Yorkshire resulting in the need to upgrade my equipment. I currently use the mighty Venom 22 Ton Log Splitter from Rock Machinery pictured behind this text.

SERVICES

Firstly, I am NOT a Tree Surgeon and I do NOT cut down, remove branches from, or trim trees and hedges. I only provide a log splitting service.

Re-splitting - splitting logs you already have that are to large for your needs.

Splitting - Splitting tree rounds into logs suitable for your Log Burner, Fire, or Stove.

Branches - Cutting branches into lengths ready for splitting.

Please note that due to the size of the log splitting machine good access to the logs is required.

PRICING

As a guide I charge £35.00 per hour or £160.00 per day. Over four hours is charged at day rate as this works out cheaper than five hours or more. I do not charge traveling time, however there is an additional milage charge for locations more than fifteen miles from my base. Estimates are free of charge within fifteen miles of my base. There is a small charge to cover fuel and time for estimates further afield which will be refunded if I am appointed to carry out the work.
